Aerial Overview

This Huon Creek Retreat aerial overview shows the homestead, workshop and bore water areas and the creek to the north of the home. As a guide, the orange outlined areas (Workshop and Bore Water) are strictly out of bounds to guests for safety purposes. Access to the creek and further exploring is via gates, market on the above image (click to expand).

Boundary & Creeks

Guests are free to wander the seasonal creek (at their own risk), outlined in blue. Access is via the gates shown on the Aerial Overview image (click to expand). General hazards should be observed, including holes in unknown locations, long grass and snakes. As there is no official creek crossing location, it is best to cross when the flow is low. The marked 'X' hilltop location offers wonderful sunrise views.

Fire Access Road

500 metres past the front gate of the property, Huon Creek Road turns into a 4WD fire access road. This offers a wonderful intermediate hiking destination; climbing 2kms uphill to the top of a hill, where twin valley views showcase the grandeur of both the Huon Creek and Indigo Valleys.

Hilltop Views

Huon Creek Retreat is designed for exploring. If care is taken, a picnic lunch or evening cheese platter with wine situated at one of the property's hilltops presents a unique and memorable experience for guests. It is an ideal way to truly escape one's daily grind and connect with nature.

Indigo Valley Views

Stretching from Yackandandah in the south and following the Indigo Creek to the Murray River at Howlong, the Indigo Valley is a fertile and picturesque farming district, that includes the regional hamlets of Barnawartha and Gooramadda.
